We're delighted to announce our BC-shot, Swiss-Canadian coproduction Shana - The Wolf's Music received the UNICEF Children's Award at the Indianer Inuit: Nordamerika Filmfestival on January 24th, 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany.
Now in its sixth year, this festival celebrates indigenous film productions from all over the world.
The UNICEF Children's Award was selected by a jury of local Grade 4 students, and awarded to Swiss director Nino Jacusso.Shana - The Wolf's Music demonstrates in a sensitive way how the love of music can lead to adventure, the jury stated. The students presented the award, a sculpture by artist Karin Ecker, to Hans-Peter Willi, Head of Cultural Section at the Consulate General of Switzerland in Stuttgart. Willi previously worked in Vancouver.
This prize marks the 25th award for Shana, which has recently been released on DVD in Canada and is scheduled to play at festivals in at least five more international festivals in 2016.
